• Using circle grid analysis and forming limit diagrams
  For physical stampings, the circle grid measurements indicate how much the metal has deformed (strained) at each location in the stamping. The forming limit diagram provides the maximum allowable strain for each location. The difference is the safety margin used to identify hot spots. For virtual stampings, the computer provides both the strain readings and forming limit diagram strain levels. This Workshop shows how to conduct and understand the process for both physical and virtual stampings. Numerous individual and team problems help relate the content to actual production problems.
• Basic understanding of metals
  A beginner seminar covering how steel and other metals are made, metal types and grades, linkage between basic metal properties and forming modes, and supplier interactions.
• What you need to know about mechanical properties
  A seminar exploring in detail the traditional and special forming properties of metals and how each property controls the various forming modes.
• Problems forming higher strength steels
  An in-depth seminar describing all types of high strength and advanced high strength steels. First, the steel characteristics are explained. Then solutions are provided for the many forming problems created when the metal strength is increased.
• Implementing troubleshooting
  A series of data-based troubleshooting procedures are taught for identifying and correcting sheet metal stamping tears or dimensional variation. This workshop includes numerous individual and team problems that help relate the teaching material to actual production problems.
• Best sheet metal forming practices for benchmarking
  This two-day seminar highlights some of the latest press shop analysis and troubleshooting tools. Included are data-based procedures for understanding different metals and tooling.
